The annual Battle Creek Citizens Police Academy will kick off in January.
The program, hosted by the Battle Creek Police Department in collaboration with the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office and Michigan State Police, is targeting business owners, community leaders and engaged neighbors, according to a community announcement.
Participants will engage in interactive sessions covering police procedures and community safety initiatives. The academy aims to foster collaboration between law enforcement and the community.
The sessions will take place at the Battle Creek Police Department, 34 N. Division St., Battle Creek. They are scheduled as follows: 5-9 p.m. Jan. 7; 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Jan. 10; 5-9 p.m. Jan. 14; 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Jan. 17; 5-9 p.m. Jan. 21; and 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
