BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A winter storm is bringing significant snowfall to portions of central, southeast, and southern West Virginia today, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a Winter Storm Warning in effect until 9 p.m. EST this evening.
The warning covers a broad area including Kanawha, Boone, Clay, Northwest and Southeast Raleigh, Northwest Fayette, and Northwest Nicholas counties, as well as cities such as Charleston, South Charleston, Madison, Saint Albans, Clay, Oak Hill, Fayetteville, Beckley, Sophia, Summersville, Craigsville, Prosperity, Montgomery, and Birch River.
