CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The National Weather Service issued winter storm warnings Monday for much of central and southern West Virginia and parts of western and central Virginia, forecasting several inches of snow and hazardous travel conditions through the evening.
In West Virginia, the warning covers Kanawha, Boone, Clay, Raleigh, Fayette and Nicholas counties, including Charleston, Beckley, Oak Hill, Summersville and surrounding communities. Forecasters expect 3 to 5 inches of snow, with higher amounts possible on ridgetops, through 9 p.m.
