Michigan is one spot away from No. 1. The Wolverines moved up one spot to No. 2 in Monday’s AP Top 25 men’s basketball poll.
They received 19 first-place votes, behind only No. 1 Arizona’s 33. Both teams won this past week to move up. Purdue, which held the top spot the previous three weeks, dropped to No. 6 after losing at home to Iowa State 81-58.
Duke (which received seven first-place votes), Iowa State (one first-place vote) and UConn rounded out the top five in the weekly rankings.
Michigan’s only game since the last poll was Saturday’s 101-60 win over Rutgers in the Big Ten opener for the Wolverines. Purdue also beat Rutgers last week but got crushed in its next game.
