FLORENCE, AZ (AZFamily) — The Pinal County Attorney’s Office (PCAO) announced Monday that it has joined the federal 287(g) program, expanding immigration enforcement in the county.

County prosecutors said in a news conference that the move to join the federal immigration enforcement program will provide “training, authority, and federal tools” to find undocumented immigrants convicted of crimes and deport them.

“With this partnership, if you commit a crime in Penal County, we will hunt you down, no matter where you go, and prosecute you to the fullest extent of the law. Human smuggling is an evil,” said Pinal County Attorney Brad Miller. “And we will not only prosecute those who participate in such activities, but my office is also planning to pursue legislation.”
