MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - The Baraboo Police Department is investigating a death that happened last week in the city, officials announced Monday.

BPD says an attempt to locate call came in around 6:30 p.m. Friday evening near Effinger Road.

Responding officers found a man who had died along the river walk.

The man has been identified by police, though his name has not been released.

BPD assured residents that it is an isolated incident and there is no risk to the public.

The investigation is still ongoing, with assistance from the Sauk County Coroner’s Office and the University of Wisconsin Hospital.
