CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - A new sign is being installed downtown at Broadway and Main street, just steps from the riverwalk.

Cape Girardeau city manager, Kenneth Haskin, told Heartland News this sign has been planned since last year and will cost the city between $50,000 and $60,000. He explained the funds are coming from city branding. The intention is to advertise city and local events.

Haskin also told us they chose the area on Broadway and Main because it is city-owned property, as well as his relationship with local non-profit Old Town Cape and downtown businesses.
