The Grand Rapids Police Chief shared video Monday of his officers responding to a domestic violence call that turned into a fatal shooting this weekend.
Police began investigating around noon Saturday, Dec. 6, when a woman called 911 to report a domestic situation where a man was threatening her with a gun. She told police that the suspect was now at his house.
Officers went to the home, but the man would not come to the door or answer questions.
Several hours later, the woman called again, reporting that the man was texting her and threatening to harm himself. Officers responded a second time to check on the man.
