A Sault Ste. Marie man has been charged after allegedly driving while impaired by drugs and ending up in a snowbank on Charlotte Drive Sunday morning.
Police say they received a call around 11:50 a.m. on Dec. 7 reporting that a vehicle had driven into a snowbank in the 0–100 block of Charlotte Drive.

When officers arrived and spoke with the driver, identified as 50-year-old Justin Cristillo, they developed grounds to believe his ability to operate a vehicle was impaired by drugs.
Cristillo was arrested at the scene.
Police conducted a sobriety test, which they say the accused performed poorly.
He was then taken to the Police Services Building, where a drug recognition expert conducted a further evaluation and determined he was impaired by drugs.
