BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. —
Three men have been convicted of breaking into a family resource center and stealing items off of school buses in Buncombe County, North Carolina.
In February 2025 , three men were charged in connection with the forced entry at the Buncombe County Schools Family Resource Center in Candler and the larceny of items from several school buses at Enka High School.
The Buncombe County Sheriff's Office arrested Brian Walta and Joshua Walta. Marshall Pye was later apprehended by the U.S. Marshals Service.
Detectives were also successful in recovering a significant amount of stolen property, which included numerous brand-name winter jackets (such as Michael Kors and FILA) intended for donation post-Hurricane Helene, with an estimated retail value of approximately $49,0
