OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - The Omaha Police Department Narcotics Unit is cautioning the public about a dangerous new synthetic cannabinoid trend in the Omaha metropolitan area.
During a recent overdose investigation, narcotics unit detectives seized a substance referred to as “5-fluoro-ADB”. According to the DEA, 5F-ADB is a new synthetic compound commonly laced on plant material that is sold as a “herbal incense” product that is also known as “K2” or “Spice”.
5F-ADB is extremely potent and known to cause severe adverse health effects, and due to its potency, it can be fatal if consumed in even small amounts. 5F-ADB is not an opioid, and Narcan cannot reverse the effects of the substance.
