MACON, Ga. — Morgan Jones woke up Monday morning to a phone call she thought was a joke.
"I get a phone call from my boyfriend saying, 'Hey, the car's been broken into. The glass has been broken out of the back window,'" Jones said. "And I was like, 'It's not funny. Stop playing.'"
But it wasn't a joke. Six vehicles at the Country Inn & Suites off Riverside Drive had their windows smashed in break-ins that occurred around 4:30 a.m., according to the Bibb County Sheriff's Office . The first call came in at 4:48 a.m.
Jones said she and her boyfriend had driven up from South Florida for a doctor's appointment. They say they deliberately parked their 2024 Nissan Rogue directly in front of the hotel's entrance, under a streetlight and within view of the front desk.
