Cynthia Erivo is flying high with her most recent Golden Globe nomination.
The “Wicked: For Good” star became the first Black woman in history to be nominated twice for Best Actress (comedy or musical) when the Golden Globe nominations were revealed Monday, Dec. 8 .
The recognition comes after Erivo picked up the same nomination last year for her first portrayal of Elphaba in the box office smash, “Wicked.”
“This is a beautiful, beautiful surprise,” the 38-year-old actress told The Hollywood Reporter following the news.
“It’s been a bit of a whirlwind from the beginning of the first film right through to this moment here. I don’t know that any experience is comparable. I don’t think I’ve experienced anything like it,” Erivo said.
