WASHINGTON — Attorney General Anthony G. Brown announced a settlement with Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Inc. over allegations that the company discriminated against a group of children from Dr. James Craik Elementary School during their visit to its Waldorf location.
In December 2024, 11 students and their teachers visited the restaurant as part of a community-based instruction program. The program is designed to help students practice social and life skills.
According to the teachers chaperoning the field trip, the group experienced delays and mistreatment because of the students' disabilities. The teachers reported the incident, which prompted an investigation.
Two employees and the general manager were all fired a few weeks after the incident.
