Bhubaneswar : A chilly winter has engulfed Odisha, with the minimum night temperature plummeting below 10 degrees in at least 11 cities across the state. The mercury dipped to a bone-chilling 4.3 degrees in G. Udayagiri of Kandhamal district, marking the lowest temperature recorded so far.
According to meteorologists, the minimum temperature in north-interior Odisha is 5-6 degrees below normal, while south coastal Odisha is experiencing temperatures 3-4 degrees below normal. The cold wave is expected to persist, with cold dry air blowing from the northwest.
The Meteorological Department has issued a cold wave warning for Sundargarh, Angul, and Jharsuguda districts, cautioning residents to brace for more chilly weather. However, there’s a silver lining: a change in wind flow is expected
