More than 100 volunteers joined LA28 staff, Delta Air Lines employees and members of the environmental nonprofit Heal the Bay to remove trash along more than a mile of coastline
LA28 launched the first major activation of its new volunteer program Thursday with a community beach clean-up at Venice Beach, marking International Volunteer Day and setting the stage for a multi-year push toward the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
More than 100 volunteers joined LA28 staff, Delta Air Lines employees and members of the environmental nonprofit Heal the Bay to remove trash along more than a mile of coastline. The event follows the program’s initial announcement in November and represents the beginning of a regional series of community projects planned in the run-up to the Games.
