MARTINSVILLE, Ind. – Morgan County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Bullet was injured during an incident with an intruder on Monday, December 8.

The homeowner was not at home, but using a remote camera, observed someone breaking into their residence, and called the police. When deputies arrived at the home on Belt Lane in rural Morgan County, they confirmed that there had been a forced entry.

Law enforcement said the suspect refused to come out, so K-9 Bullet was sent into the residence. The suspect allegedly knocked the police dog unconscious by striking it several times with a large object.

The man inside supposedly refused commands to exit the house and continued to assault Bullet. At least one deputy fired their weapon and struck the suspect.
