Elton John certainly has had to deal with criticism during his long career in pop music, even after creating some of the most memorable songs in history.

But being lambasted for the condition of the oven in his kitchen? That had to be unexpected.

John, 78, recently posted a tongue-in-cheek video on social media in which he’s shown walking through his kitchen while his 1974 song “Step Into Christmas” plays in the background.

At one point he opens the door to his oven and a view from the inside shows it’s not spotless. Many fans reacted in the comments section of the post.

“Nice to see even Elton’s oven needs cleaning before Christmas, my oven glass needs an oven doctor too,” one commenter wrote.
