The 2025-26 high school swimming season is officially underway, and the Eugene-Springfield area once again features some of the top girls swimmers in the state.

Last season, Sheldon, Thurston, Cottage Grove and Marist Catholic were among the teams that delivered strong finishes during the state championships.

The nominees for Register-Guard preseason girls swimmer of the year are:

Fina Miret, Marist Catholic

McKenzielee Speldrich, Thurston
