The mother of 22-year-old Rebecca Park told investigators she cut her unborn grandson from her daughter’s womb to try and save his life, according to newly released court documents.

On a two-track road in the Manistee National Forest, Park was stabbed at least six times in the back, and in her arm, neck and face, according to an 18-page probable cause affidavit submitted by a Wexford County sheriff’s deputy and signed by a judge on Dec. 2.

The court records reveal contradictory statements made by Cortney Bartholomew, 40, and her 47-year-old husband, Bradly Bartholomew, during multiple police interrogations that reveal gruesome details surrounding the deaths of Park and her child.
