LONDON, Ky. (WYMT) - One man was arrested after driving under the influence on Dec. 5.
It happened as one officer was blocking E. 3rd Street for the London Christmas parade, when a driver reportedly drove around the barrier and onto the sidewalk going toward officers.
The car continued to drive even when told multiple times to stop.
Eventually the car malfunctioned.
When the officer approached the vehicle and told the driver to step out, he fled.
After chasing the vehicle, it eventually stopped.
Jerimie Coffey, 48, of London, was arrested and charged with:
Operating a motor vehicle under the influence
Fleeing or evading police, 3rd degree
Reckless driving
Disregarding signals from officers directing traffic
Failure to wear a seat belt
License to be in possession
Failure of own
