More planning permission and funding will need to be secured before a new pedestrian crossing to Kenilworth Castle can be installed.

Kenilworth Town Council has been working on the new link for Castle Road for over a year as it looks to find a safe way for walkers to reach the town's main tourist attraction.

Having held a public consultation and now decided on a preferred spot for the crossing , the town council is waiting on English Heritage to progress the path which will continue from the road to the castle itself.

Providing an update at last week's full council meeting, Cllr Zoe Leventhal said: "We have got the town council ends in train, what we are seeking is an update from English Heritage as to what the timelines are.
