The owners of one of Glasgow's best loved restaurants will be heading to the Supreme Court in London next year in the hopes of finally re-opening.

The Rogano has been involved in a complex legal case since it closed during the pandemic and subsequently suffered extensive water damage.

On three occasions in late 2020 and early 2021, the restaurant, which opened in 1935, was damaged by flooding and water ingress.

Why has The Rogano gone to court

Rogano's owners argue that the landlord is required to pay damages for the cost of repairs and must also foot the bill for loss of profit since it has been unable to trade.

The building is owned by Pontegadea UK Ltd, an investment company of Spanish billionaire Amancio Ortega , the founder of fashion retailer Zara.
