The Boston Red Sox are reportedly still looking to sign a bat or two to bolster their lineup, and now that Kyle Schwarber’s officially off the board to the Philadelphia Phillies, most people expect the Red Sox to zero in on re-signing Alex Bregman and/or signing Pete Alonso .
Indeed, Boston needs some more slug, but on that note, a lot of fans and analysts have forgotten about Triston Casas, who’s expected to return to health in 2026. Casas, if his body allows it, could provide the Red Sox with the type of slug they’re seeking. He was supposed to do that in 2025 before a ruptured left patellar tendon in early May doomed his entire season.
