WILLIAMSBURG — A traveling swing project could bring music to downtown Williamsburg next year, depending on City Council approval.
“Musical Swings” aims to bring people of all ages and backgrounds together to make music, according to Daily tous les jours, the Montreal-based art studio that would install the project. It involves setting up a swing set in an open space for people to jump on and swing, only each swing triggers a music note from various instruments, such as a piano, a guitar or vibraphones. The swings’ volume can be changed based on the time of day. The swings have made various stops across the world, including in New York, Denver, Singapore and more.
