BRUNSWICK, Ga. — Brunswick High School announced Tuesday that head football coach Garrett Grady has resigned after nine seasons with the program, including the last four as head coach.
His resignation comes weeks after his team instigated a major on-field brawl with players from Gainesville High School during a home second round playoff game. The fight resulted in severe punishment for Brunswick's football team, including 41 player suspensions for Brunswick -- in all likelihood for next year's season opener -- and the school was also issued a $5,000 fine, which matches what the GHSA docked Gainesville.
However, the GHSA did hand down a one-year postseason ban for Brunswick High School as part of instigating the fight.
