SUNBURY — A 33-year-old Northumberland man faces up to 77 years in state prison after a Northumberland County jury found him guilty of felony involuntary deviate sexual assault and sexually assaulting an 18-month-old using a foreign object in a 2024 incident inside a Sunbury home.

Luis Gabriel Morales, who testified on his own behalf Tuesday, was found guilty the same afternoon. The jury also heard testimony from the mother of the victim, a registered nurse, police and multiple expert doctors from Geisinger Medical Center in Danville and the Child Advocacy Center in Sunbury during proceedings Tuesday.
