ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - Fire departments and emergency responders across Louisiana will receive about $4.9 million in federal funding through a FEMA grant program, Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA) announced Tuesday, December 9.
The funding comes through FEMA’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant program and will support operations and safety improvements for 18 recipients statewide.
Central Louisiana recipients
Three Central Louisiana agencies will receive federal dollars:
Rapides Parish Fire District 12 will receive $175,238
Simmesport Volunteer Fire Department will receive $28,343.
Rapides Parish Police Jury will receive $57,132.
