LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - The City of Laredo is sending a delegation to Washington for meetings to express the impact a border wall project could have on the land and to show how Laredo is unique as a border community.
“I think the City of Laredo will share how safe we are. I think we’re gonna highlight that on any trip we would make to Washington,” said Melissa Cigarroa, Laredo City Councilmember for District 3.
Officials say they plan to conduct surveys so the community can provide input to the federal government with more information for its decision on the border wall plans.
The city continues to take action regarding the plans to build a wall along the border with Mexico.
