EAST BOSTON, Mass. —

The mother of White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt's nephew is flying back to Massachusetts Tuesday after two weeks in ICE detention.

Bruna Ferreira, 33, was arrested and detained by ICE agents on Nov. 12 while she was driving to her son's school in New Hampshire.

Ferreira's 11-year-old son is the nephew of Karoline Leavitt.

On Monday, a U.S. immigration judge ordered Ferreira's release from a South Louisiana detention center on $1,500 bond, her lawyers confirmed. She is expected to land in Boston Tuesday night.

"She got let out late last night. I think she went to a hotel to get a little bit of a break, and she's trying to fly back here right now," Ferreira's attorney, Todd Pomerleau, said.
