SLIDELL, La. —
An Indiana man who is "on the run" for sex offenses has been arrested in Slidell after police attempted to stop him during a traffic stop.
According to police, they attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a car with a stolen license plate. Advertisement
The driver, identified as Jerry Leonard, 43, from Indiana, refused to stop and tried to outrun police but was quickly arrested as he attempted to get onto I-10.
Leonard admitted to Slidell police that he was wanted in Indiana and he'd been "on the run" for failing to register as a sex or violent offender, which stemmed from a previous juvenile molestation charge.
He is being extradited back to Indiana.
