KILLEEN, Texas — For Chris Landry, serving in the Army was always a dream. But after a decade as a combat medic, rising through the ranks to Sergeant First Class at Fort Hood, he's on his way to being an officer.
After 10 years as a medic, he faced a pivotal decision: continue enlisting or pursue leadership as an officer.
"I had to figure out if I loved what I did or if I could see myself doing it for the rest of my life, and the short answer was no," Landry said.
Management and leadership were skills Landry enjoyed using, and he realized his passion lay in guiding others and understanding the bigger picture. After a friend encouraged him to apply, Landry set his sights on becoming an officer.
Now, Landry is six months away from earning a Bachelor's in Business with minors in Military
