SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, Ariz. (KVOA) - The Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office has issued a warning about scam calls from individuals claiming to be associated with their department.

Deputies have reported that scammers are using local phone numbers not connected to the Sheriff's Office.

The department emphasized that they will never call to ask for money for registrations, fines, or warrants.

The Sheriff's Office is urging everyone to only answer calls from known numbers and to report any suspicious calls to their office or the Federal Trade Commission.
