25 people died in the fire that broke out on the night of December 6 at Goa's Birch by Romeo Lane nightclub

Goa Police on Tuesday detained Ajay Gupta, a key financial partner of the Arpora-based nightclub Birch by Romeo Lane, in connection with the massive fire that broke out on the night of December 6, killing 25 people and injuring several others.

Gupta was tracked down in Delhi after authorities issued a Look Out Circular (LOC) against him and business associate Surinder Kumar Khosla.

According to police officials, a team first visited Gupta’s residence in North Delhi but did not find him there. He was later traced, detained, and will soon be transported to Goa for interrogation.
