KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Knoxville City Council made several changes on Tuesday night, amending the 2025-26 total fiscal year budget and approving funds for Old City streetscapes.

All this was done at the final meeting for five term-limited council members who are concluding eight years of service. Those include the following members.

Tommy Smith, 1st District

Andrew Roberto, 2nd District

Seema Singh, 3rd District

Lauren Rider, 4th District

Gwen McKenzie, 6th District

According to a release from the city, new sidewalks and streetlights are coming to another section of the Old City in the coming months.

"In 2016, the City invested heavily in the Jackson Avenue public infrastructure on the western end of the Old City," the release said. "Narrow, broken sidewalks were replaced. Snarled
