WHITE SETTLEMENT, Texas — Brewer High School senior Sierra Kaspar has achieved international success as a member of the U.S. Women’s Deaf National Soccer Team, earning a gold medal in the Women’s Football Competition at the 2025 Deaflympics in Japan.
Out of thousands of young athletes across the country, Kaspar was one of just 23 players invited to represent Team USA — and she made the most of it. Kaspar, who serves as a goalkeeper, has been overcoming challenges linked to progressive hearing loss.
A soccer player since the age of four, Kaspar began experiencing hearing difficulties in fifth grade. A year later, she was diagnosed with progressive hearing loss. Now, after wearing hearing aids for the past five years, she’s considered severely deaf in both ears.
