IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. — Parents in Iredell County say they are outraged and demanding transparency after a teacher and classroom assistant were charged with assaulting students with disabilities, allegations uncovered through hours of classroom video.

Police first arrested 23-year-old Kassidy Ross in October on one count of assault on an individual with disabilities. After the Iredell–Statesville School District reviewed more than 100 hours of footage, investigators added 13 more charges against Ross and charged teacher assistant Juanita Nesbit, who was released on a $2,500 bond. Ross remains jailed without bond.
