KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - The University of Nebraska at Kearney held a budget forum Tuesday to discuss potential cuts with students and staff as the university faces a $4.5 million budget shortfall.

The university has an annual budget of $170 million, but rising health insurance costs and declining enrollment have created a $4 million gap the university must address.

Chancellor Neal Schnoor presented draft recommendations to the campus community during the afternoon forum, where audience members had the opportunity to speak directly with university leaders about the future of the UNK.
