HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Hastings residents are taking precautions against porch pirates as holiday deliveries increase.
Nebraska recorded one of the highest porch piracy rates in the nation last year, according to Security.com.
Bryant Allen, a Hastings resident, said he has not experienced package theft but remains vigilant during the holiday season.
“I would say get those apps that let you know,” Allen said. “Because those will let you know immediately once it’s been delivered.”
Gavin and Paige Raitt, also Hastings residents, use technology to monitor their deliveries.
“We have an Alexa in our house so we get the notification that it’s delivered or if it’s coming,” the Raitts said. “We have a ring door bell that’s how we know.”
