FARMINGTON, CT. (WFSB) - Farmington police are warning residents about a fake invoice.

The invoice would look like it came from the Planning and Zoning Department.

Police said that the town will never demand payments by email or mail without prior communication.

They are advising residents to not send money, click links, or share personal information.

If you received one of the letters or emails, you are advised to contact Farmington police or the Town Planning Office to verify its authenticity.
