A Palm Bay woman is being charged after striking a Bunnell Public Safety Officer (PSO) with her vehicle while children were crossing the roadway in the Bunnell Elementary School zone at around 9 a.m. on Monday, according to the Bunnell Police Department.
According to the report, the PSO was dressed in uniform and wearing a traffic safety vest when they stepped out onto the westbound lane of East Moody Boulevard so students and parents could finish crossing in the designated crosswalk.
A gray Hyundai sedan came to a brief halt just inches away from the PSO. The driver, then shouted, "Don't you ever [expletive] step out in front of me again."
The driver then accelerated her vehicle, striking the PSO in the right upper leg before fleeing the scene.
