HINDMAN, Ky. (WYMT) - In the first round of the WYMT Food City Mountain Basketball Classic, No. 7 Hazard defeated No. 4 Paintsville, 76-65.

Hazard started the game on a 4-0 run.

The Tigers responded, tying the game thanks to two made free throws, and an inside bucket by Brock Woods.

The Bulldogs followed Woods’ inside bucket immediately, with a three made by Trace Kincaid.

With 3:49 remaining in the first quarter, Hazard led 7-6.

Out of a media timeout, Tucker Johnson hit a long two to put the ‘dawgs ahead 9-6 with a little more than three minutes remaining in the first period.

Talan Osborne hit a two-handed dunk, and was rewarded with the “and-one,” which put Hazard ahead by six with 2:00 minutes remaining in the first quarter.
