GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - The Green Bay Finance Committee approved funding for a contract aimed at making the city a Vision Zero community.

The project would be split into two parts, aiming to create a comprehensive safety action plan that would reduce traffic deaths and serious injuries to zero.

The first part, to be completed by March 2026, involves the creation of an initial plan that would identify which aspects of the project to focus on.

It would also provide a deadline to gather the necessary funding, which totals just over $1.1 million.

The final part would be to reach agreement on a final plan and submit it to the U.S. Department of Transportation by April 2028.
