NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Dozens of family members who lost a loved one to homicide in Tennessee gathered at the Tennessee State Museum Tuesday night for the 23rd annual “Tennessee Season to Remember” event.

They were joined by local public safety officials from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the Tennessee District Attorneys General Conference and advocates from TN Voices for Victims among others.

At the event, family members placed ornaments dedicated to their lost loved ones on memorial wreaths. The wreaths will later be displayed in the Tennessee State Capitol.

This year’s keynote speaker Matt Cahoon lost his pregnant wife and two-year-old boy in 2019 when their killer purposely hit them with his car.
