Jamie Carragher has issued an apology to Mohamed Salah during a live broadcast after his previous comments about the Liverpool striker.

Speaking on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football, Carragher had labelled Salah's heated post-match statements following Saturday's stalemate at Leeds United as 'a disgrace' and questioned whether the Egyptian would play for the club in future.

The former Liverpool defender said: "I think whenever Mo Salah stops in a mixed zone, which he's done four times in eight years, it's choreographed with him and his agent to cause maximum damage and strengthen his own position.

"He did that 12 months ago and I called him out on this show about it and he played on the heartstrings of Liverpool supporters.
