BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - A community Christmas party like no other on this day in history.

Businessman and real estate developer Antonio Pomerleau started serving up food and gifts for low-income Vermonters in 1981 and kept the party going every Christmas season.

At a party on December 10, 2017, Pomerleau was 100 years old.

“We started here with only 30 people, and I do this in Newport, Barton, South Burlington. I’ve probably fed 40 to 50,000,” said Pomerleau.

That would be Pomerleau’s final party, as he passed away two months later.

His family foundation has continued to hold the annual gatherings.
