School buses will not be on the road Wednesday morning in Essex County and other parts of southwestern Ontario due to poor road conditions in the region after overnight wintery weather.

However, that’s not the case in Windsor where a lot of the snow has melted as the temperature rose above the freezing mark. Transportation officials say buses in the city will be picking up and dropping off students as usual in the morning.

Buses are also cancelled in all zones across the Chatham-Kent and Sarnia-Lambton system, according to transportation officials.

On Tuesday, Environment Canada said as much as 10 centimetres of snow was possible in Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent — where advisories remain in place. T
