CHARLESTON — After more than 15 years, a community staple is closing its doors for good.
There had been recent hints this day was coming.
Fuel Cantina, a former gas station turned restaurant at 211 Rutledge Ave., announced Dec. 9 it would stop serving its Caribbean-inspired food locals have come to love. The final day of service will be Dec. 20.
“There’s never an easy or convenient moment to close a restaurant, but we’re ready to turn the page and embrace a new chapter,” the business posted to Instagram . “Our hearts are full, and our gratitude is endless — thank you for your loyalty and support through the years. We’ve truly all become a family, and we have you all to thank for it. It has been one hell of a run.”
