KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Police are investigating a deadly shooting near Kansas City’s east side - no one is yet in custody.

An adult man was found fatally shot just after 10:15 p.m. Tuesday at 31st Street and Kensington Avenue, just down the street from Central High School.

Kansas City police were dispatched to the address on a ‘nature unknown’ call after a 911 caller asked for help at the location.

On arrival, officers spoke with residents who said they heard a disturbance followed by what they believed was gunfire. Officers searched the area and found a man unresponsive on the ground next to a house.

Officers rendered aid until emergency medical personnel arrived. EMS took over treatment and later pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
