SMITHVILLE, Mo. (KCTV) - The Smithville Lake bathrooms have been vandalized multiple times this year, and the Clay County Sheriff’s office is still searching for the suspects.
The bathrooms were most recently vandalized on Dec. 1.
Authorities stated that park employees discovered felony-level damage: a destroyed toilet, smashed light fixtures and a stall wall ripped from the concrete wall in the Sail Boat Cove bathrooms.

The Sheriff’s office stated that they are working with Clay County Parks to install cameras in the area.
The Sailboat Cove restrooms have been vandalized four times this year, authorities reported that two of the incidents have included graffiti and a firework exploding a toilet.
